Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Association Limited is an organization whose main objective is to support Women Entrepreneurs through the provision of Business Development Services and Advocating for enabling environments that meet the specific needs of women in Uganda.

Mission
Empower Women to Create Wealth.
Economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs through, business diagnostics, capacity building, resource mobilization, institutional development, networking and advocacy.
UWEAL will continue to build up capacity and train women to run sustainable enterprises in different parts of Uganda.

Vision
UWEAL envisions a wealthy woman responsibly contributing to national economic growth.

Objectives
The objectives address the major strategic issues:
  • Rights awareness and participation in the democratization process.
  • Service delivery.
  • Institutional development, policy advocacy and monitoring, capacity development and resource mobilization.
Activities
  • Coordination & implementation of member training in various business skills.

  • Facilitation of member participation in international trade events and in international marketing activities.

  • The UWEAL Women Investment Club, a savings and credit scheme active throughout the branches.

  • The UWEAL Mentorship Program, providing personalized training and guidance to new and struggling entrepreneurs.
  • Monthly Business Development Meetings, allowing members to acquire skills and network with fellow members.
  • The UWEAL Book Club, providing member access to business literature as well as the Resource Centre where members can access business information as well as communicate via the internet.
  • Provision of an effective forum through which government and donor agencies can consult on women in business issues.

  • Networking opportunities to members.

  • Membership in national and international Women in Business Organizations. i.e. African Federation of Women Entrepreneurs and International Federation of Women Entrepreneurs.

  • Information collection and dissemination; market, product, export and business related information.

  • Identifying and addressing the specific needs of women Entrepreneurs in Uganda.

  • Production of a business oriented Newsletter in which members' businesses can be profiled.
